Mark Boesen is a founding partner of Boesen & Snow. He is a practicing pharmacist with three decades of patient service and a licensed attorney. He founded Boesen & Snow LLC with Allyson Snow to combine his expertise and passion in healthcare operations and management, healthcare public policy, and government affairs. Mark is committed to his practice of pharmacy and law, providing support to healthcare businesses and professionals when they require innovative solutions to solve problems. Clients are offered the value proposition of having an advisor who is an attorney with extensive law firm experience and a pharmacist with contemporary practice experience.
Before founding the firm, he served as an attorney on Quarles & Brady’s Health Law Group and as Vice President of Operations, Regulatory, and Government Affairs for the Apothecary Shops Specialty Pharmacies (later known as Avella Specialty Pharmacy). Additionally, Mark served as Chairman and CEO of a large national mail-order pharmacy with brick-and-mortar locations across the US, including Puerto Rico.
Among his professional accomplishments, Mark is most proud of serving as the past president of the Arizona Pharmacy Association, receiving the Bowl of Hygeia award and Pharmacist of the Year from the Arizona Pharmacy Association. Mark recently presented the first “secondary appeal” in the U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP) history regarding proposed changes to the General Chapters on pharmacy compounding. He, along with his co-presenters, succeeded in postponing the implementation of these chapters, which would have negatively impacted compounding pharmacies and the patients they serve.
Firm partner Allyson Snow says of Mark, “I have often said there are many talented attorneys that can research or recite the law. Attorneys who know the law and truly understand the system and industry in which their clients operate are special. That is Mark.”
Mark was born and raised in the Midwest and is a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan. He knows a ridiculous amount about baseball rules and has served as a rules consultant for several private baseball organizations. Mark is happily married to Lisa, and they have twin teenage boys who make them proud every day.
